The British car manufacturer is known for specializing in high-quality small cars, and it didn’t take long to become iconic all around the world. During different periods it was difficult to tell other emblems apart, but MINI’s unique logos always stood out amongst the crowd. MINI of Escondido has a brief history of the MINI logo that took place throughout the changes in ownership of the luxury automotive manufacturer.

• 1959 – When British Motor Corporation first started producing MINI vehicles, they had numerous MINI logos for different vehicles.
• 1961 – John Cooper’s name became associated with the brand as he built the first charged MINIs. The MINI Coopers went on to win numerous rallies. After this, the car’s name was changed to MINI Cooper and the winged MINI Cooper badge became the inspiration to the current logo.
• 1962 – The 1962 logo featured wings on either side of the “MINI Cooper” text.
• 1969 – 1969 had a new MINI logo with a hexagonal shape with “MINI” on the top half and turquoise highlights on the bottom half.
• 2001 – This is when the MINI revival began with a hearkening back to the performance, speed, and freedom of the MINI brand, and the logo returned to the MINI wings on a new, sleek, and modern design.
