The MINI Electrified Lineup

Like BMW, MINI has a renewed commitment to social and environmental responsibility; this time, specifically as it relates to their current electrified lineup. We’ve spoken before about the MINI SE and not only how incredibly fun the car is, but how it is also the best value on the market for an all-electric car. MINI has done an incredible job moving the industry forward in providing an electric car for the majority of the users, but also making it entirely accessible for anyone who is ready for it.

Where is MINI going with the electrified market?

BMW has made a commitment to reduce environmental impact and increase social responsibility by offering up to 25 electrified vehicles by 2025, including 12 all-electric cars and SAVs. MINI takes their cue from BMW Global, so you can rest assured that not only will MINI have a complete lineup of PHEV and electrified vehicles by 2025, they will also be a blast to drive.

Our current vehicle lineup is already responsibility in action. With industry leading gas mileage, our cars are economically feasible and environmentally friendly. All of our vehicles average around thirty miles a gallon, so you can rest assured that even if you decide on a non-electrified car or SAV, you are driving responsibly.

The PHEV Leading the Way

The 2021 MINI Countryman started as the plug-in hybrid made for the city, but it’s become so much more than that. The new Countryman has become our hottest seller, next to the original Hardtop 2 Door, because it is unrivaled at its size and price point. You can drive the largest MINI, the only SAV, and an electrified PHEV with all-wheel drive, all in the Countryman.

Due to the crossover’s cargo and cabin space, it’s now known as the MINI for active lifestyles and growing families. It’s just as simple to plan a trip to the mountains, as it is to pop a board on the roof-rack and enjoy a surf. Moving forward, we see the Countryman continuing to lead the way and setting a new standard of hybrid technology and fun for our entire model lineup.

The All-Electric that Started it All

As the PHEV Countryman continues to grow in popularity and adoption, we see it making inroads for all our models as well as cementing the idea of an all-electric MINI. While the Countryman can fit any lifestyle from the mountains to the urban city, the MINI SE is more in alignment with the commuter’s lifestyle and close to home driver. You can get the larger Countryman and the average 29 miles per gallon, or you can get the 110 mile range SE electric. Either way, you’re winning in life if you choose either one.

Yes, the MINI SE started the electric trend for us, but we see it influencing every aspect of our car family. The competition is stiff in the PHEV and electric market, and we see this as a good thing (just like the solar industry). People want to make economically sensible choices, and given a choice, would make choices that benefit the environment. We see the MINI brand as one that is adapting to the market well, provided what people are asking for, with our own flair.
